Just back from an INSPIRING workshop with Paul Wandless www.studio3artcompany.com 

Clay and Printmaking.  

....this is a still wet sample of a monoprint with underglaze on a white slab (but grey while wet). the black lines are drawn first with a slip trailer. then layers of colors are painted or printed on. 

the thing that is so different is that the colors really don't move around much as they are brushed on, in other words they don't blend but because they are translucent they layer. a very nice feeling to this process which i want to explore. when this piece is dry i'll fire it and post the results.

what are these owls all about?

I must have made 1000 owls by now.....what are these owls all about? 

well, generally speaking, all of nature is my teacher.....

....and these owls with eyes looking right at the viewer?

 those eyes say to me "Awaken, 

re-member the ancient wisdom and knowledge that my soul carries into this life.....

See through the illusion...

and re-member ....

i am free, 

i am love, 

i am power, 

i am connected to ALL, 

i am sacred, 

you are sacred, 

All is sacred.
